INTERNSHIPS & RESIDENCIES
All SJMA internships are unpaid, but students can receive course credit from their academic institutions.

Have you dreamed of working in a museum? Want to expand your portfolio or just apply your skills on behalf of one of the Bay Area’s hippest art institutions? Come help the San Jose Museum of Art create beautiful collateral and tame the content on its website. Responsibilites:
- Implement graphic solutions for San Jose Museum of Art (assist with collateral, ad design, html emails).
- Assist with the creation of html marketing emails.
- Wrangle content and assets from SJMA departments for emails.
- Fulfill logo requests from internal departments and external partners/vendors; send files via disk, email or upload ftp sites; convert files to appropriate format for print, web and email usage.
- Update content on SJMA website.
- Assist with print collateral development as need.
- A high degree of learning agility and ability to work under tight timelines is required.
- Work directly and independently with marketing manager to see projects through the production timeline.
- Participate with marketing team in creative brainstorming.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years experience in design and production or related experience.
- Available to work at least 15 hours per week.
- Related undergraduate degree desirable or in process.
- Good HTML skills with desire to improve skill set.
- Strong customer service, self-motivation and time management skills required.
- Provide varying levels of graphic production support to staff.
- Must be organized and highly conscientious about details.
- Must be able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be comfortable working in a demanding, fast-paced environment under tight deadlines. Good follow-through a must.
- Required software skills include: Dreamweaver (or similar WYSIWYG application), FTP, InDesign skills, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe PhotoShop, Acrobat Distiller.
- Must have a portfolio available for review.
