Travel with SJMA
Members at the Collector level ($1000) may participate in Museum-sponsored day trips to important cultural sites in the region. Members of the Council of 100 ($3,000) or Director’s Council ($10,000) are eligible for exciting National and International trips, accompanied by key Museum staff. SJMA Goes to New York! This spring SJMA members traveled to New York and visited MoMA, the Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Biennial 2006, the Studio Museum of Harlem and spent a day at Dia:Beacon and the Storm King Art Center. The trip also included dinner at the restaurant at the Rockefeller farm, a visit to an artist’s studio, as well as a private collection and galleries. SJMA Goes to Chicago! In the fall of 2005 Museum Members enjoyed a four day trip to Chicago. Travelers stayed in the historic Hotel Burnham and enjoy an exclusive visit to a corporate art collection, a morning at The Art Institute of Chicago, an architectural boat cruise on the Chicago River, a private reception on the 96th floor of the John Hancock Building, and a visit the Milwaukee Art Museum’s Quadracci Pavilion, the first building in the United States designed by the now renowned Spanish architect, Santiago Calatrava.
