Jim Campbell earned two B.S. degrees in Mathematics and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1978. He transitioned from filmmaking to interactive video installations in mid-1980s and pioneered the use of electronic media for installations and sculptures that react to museum visitors. He currently divides his time between his creative work and work as an electrical engineer specializing in cutting edge digital technology.
